The family's business presence in the United States dates back to 1909 with operations and facilities in the San Francisco and Oakland Bay Area. Experience in the seafood and various other commodities are marketed on both the wholesale and distributor levels and in both the domestic markets and overseas markets. For some products we also operate as producer/supplier and distributor. The company is also an authorized vendor, supplying institutional buyers with various food products. In addition to the above, the family also has operating interests in various other diversified areas. Associated companies participate in various other levels of production and/or distribution and financing.
Earlier history finds our business activity heavily concentrated with the export and import of goods to and from Asian markets. Domestic distribution was smaller, but now is a rapidly growing segment of the company. Domestic activity emerged and defined itself during the period of the mid 1950's.
Watari-Wong Corporation maintains its close relations within Asia with associated ties in every major Asian market. The seafood division handles specialized products tailored especially for Asia. The company also imports various seafood and related products from Mexico, South America, Caribbean, Pakistan and the Pacific Island areas.
The company maintains offices both domestically as well as associated offices overseas. Cold and dry storage warehouse facilities are maintained by other family affiliated operations in various locations which are available to Watari-Wong Corporation inventories.
